W12, V8, Hybrid, Speed or EWB: how each Bentayga is valued, which options make a difference, and where to sell it.

The Bentayga is Bentley's best-selling model, so there are plenty on the used market and buyers compare closely. Bentleys also lose value quickly in their first years, which makes it worth getting several offers rather than accepting the first trade-in number.

This page is specific to the Bentayga. For other Bentleys and the full comparison of ways to sell, see the main Bentley guide.

Which Bentayga do you have?

  • Bentayga W12

    2016–2020

The original Bentayga with a 6.0-liter W12. Offers depend heavily on service history and mileage, because buyers know W12 repairs are expensive.

  • Bentayga V8

    2019–present

The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 became the core model. Lower running costs make it popular on the used market.

  • Bentayga Hybrid

    2020–present

A plug-in hybrid with a V6. Buyers ask about the battery, the charging equipment and any remaining hybrid-system warranty.

  • Bentayga Speed

    2020–2024

The fastest W12 Bentayga. Bentley ended W12 production in 2024, which gives the Speed some extra appeal.

  • 2021 facelift and EWB

    2021–present

The facelift brought a new interior with a larger screen, revised styling and updated technology. The long-wheelbase EWB (2023 on) adds rear-seat space and the optional Airline Seat Specification, and carries a premium.

What Bentayga buyers check first

  1. GenerationA post-2021 facelift car is worth noticeably more than a similar earlier car. Make sure buyers price your model year correctly.
  2. SpecificationMulliner specification, Naim audio, the Touring Specification driver-assist pack, rear-seat entertainment, seating (four, five or seven seats) and special colors.
  3. Service historyOn-schedule servicing at a Bentley dealer or specialist. Gaps get priced as risk on a complex car.
  4. Mechanical healthAir suspension, Bentley Dynamic Ride (the active anti-roll system) and no warning lights. A recent inspection answers most questions in advance.
  5. WarrantyRemaining factory warranty or Bentley Certified coverage adds real value.

Where to sell a Bentayga

  • Most Bentaygas

A specialist luxury buyer with nationwide pickup, or a Bentley dealer buying for its certified pre-owned program. Get at least three written offers. On a car with this much depreciation, the spread between offers can be large.

  • Speed, EWB and Mulliner cars

A specialist who can price the specification, or a dealer if the car is recent and has dealer history.

  • Trading toward another Bentley

A dealer trade-in may come with a sales tax credit in your state. Compare offers after tax.

Documents that add value

  • Service records showing scheduled maintenance
  • Build sheet listing Mulliner and factory options
  • Remaining warranty or certified pre-owned paperwork
  • Charging cable and battery documents (Hybrid models)
  • Both keys and the owner's manuals

Common questions

Why has my Bentayga lost so much value?

Large luxury SUVs with complex technology tend to depreciate quickly, and the Bentayga's high new price magnifies that in dollar terms. Strong service records and a clean inspection help you get the top of the current market.

Is a W12 Bentayga worth more than a V8?

Not necessarily. Many used buyers prefer the V8 for its lower running costs. The Speed is the W12 exception, with its own following since W12 production ended.

Can I sell a Bentayga with a lease?

Usually. Get a payoff quote from the leasing company and confirm it allows a third-party buyout. The buyer pays the leasing company and you receive any equity.

Does seating configuration affect value?

It can. Four-seat and seven-seat Bentaygas appeal to narrower groups of buyers than the standard five-seat car, so finding the right buyer may take longer.
